LADIES NEWSLETTER from The Ladies Section
|
Our ladies National team competitions are on a roll, and we go into the New Year with the Yetton, Vivienne and Mason A sides still in the race to the finals. Sadly our Mason B side succumbed to a strong South Forest team.
We play our last Trudy Bates match before Christmas on Wednesday 11th December against Horncastle. Currently we are top of our section of the county league. So well done ladies let's keep it up.
Congratulations to Penny Strong for winning the 2019 Bowls England Senior Woman Bowler of the Year award.
The Ladies 4s League is coming to a close and the Triples League will start soon after Christmas. Don't forget, Ladies, if you need to rearrange a Ladies League game, cancel the rink asap so that it can be utilised by others and the club can recover the revenue.
The recent markers course seems to have been a success and we hope those who attended found it informative. Perhaps another course could be arranged during the season.
We have two ladies who are endeavouring to become umpires, so we wish Sue Johnston and Janet Skinner all the best with their studies.
Thank you to the Ladies and Ladies League teams who have donated prizes for the Christmas Draw. There is still time to buy some raffle tickets before the draw on Wednesday afternoon 18th December. If you are lucky enough to win you will have nearly a week to collect your goodies before the Christmas break.
We would like to wish all our lady members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
