Report Yetton Trophy 5th Round Saturday 4th January Lincoln IBC v Spalding IBC
At 5 ends with the score 18 shots to 20 in Spalding’s favour this was looking like a tough test but Kath’s rink leading away by 3 shots was definitely a plus. At 10 ends the game was turned on its head Lincoln moving into a 14-shot lead overall. 3 rinks up only one trailing by 1 shot away from home things looking better. At 15 ends the lead was extended to 19 shots still all to play for but the game Lincoln’s to lose. 18 ends the away rinks only down by 3 shots with the home rinks still in control up by 15 shots, the lead 12 shots come on Lincoln one last push. With Penny’s rink scoring 10 shots in there last 3 ends and Jill dropping 3 they had done as much as they could up by 22 shots it was awaiting the final score from away. With Lincoln only trailing by 2 and ends running out Spalding conceded putting Lincoln through to the Quarter Finals. Well done Ladies especially the away rinks.
