Something new from Howard Jarrold
|
Another Summer ! bites the dust and along with the bowlers who left us for the dubious delights of bowling in all weathers, we welcome back the four man, two bowls format for all club league games. Not my favourite format I have to say as it means you have to get into your stride more quickly. Structured coaching in the form of group instruction returns on Sundays and Wednesdays, both at 4.30. In the absence of any other instruction you just turn up. This is an excellent way for new members to meet and mix. See notice board for starting dates. A new initiative will be trialed until the end of the year. After some discussion with Danny and Paul Davies both of whom felt that there was nothing available for those who are unable to attend on the two afternoon slots, that a more informal advice and fault recognition service should be available for the a.m. devotees. Starting on Friday 6th I will be at the club from mid morning until 1pm. every Friday. This is in addition to the days I am there from 8am to 10.30am .( If you are an afternoon and evening bowler then George Wilson is the man to see. Always ready to help, he can often be found lurking around the coffee machine. Not as young or good looking as me, he is nevertheless quite a good coach ( he speaks well of me as well ! ) and a nice guy to boot ) If you need help, advice or want to moan about something bowls, I'll try and answer your questions and sort out your delivery problems. I'm looking forward to it . Howard
