Mobility and grip problems               from Howard Jarrold

A short while ago the club invested in two aids to bowling. The move was prompted by the fact that there were / are members who were giving up the game for a variety of reasons, mainly mobility and grip related.
I was disappointed that the aids didn't find favour, and it seemed that embarrasment was the main reason. Now that is a huge problem to overcome BUT fast forward to the present and we now see Rob using one of these aids. Facing having to stop bowling for medical reasons he took the plunge and very quickly got used to it. One very happy member who is delighted with his new found friend.
'The Pusher' as I call it is a plastic extendable pusher resembling the bowls lifter in design. Legal to use it removes the need for bending or gripping. To operate it is much like using a broom ( either one or two handed ). If you can relate to Rob or you have a different problem speak to me and I will be only to happy to help .
